The big goal is $10,500 U.S.. See the cost breakdown in budget proposal below. The event planners in Gaza remain flexible: how much we raise will determine the quality and scope of their tournament. For instance, a modest event budget would cover the organizational and management fees and medals for the winning teams of the soccer tournaments. A full budget would provide the winners with an additional gift certificate for sports shoes and other necessary equipment to keep playing all year long.
Organizers hope to provide a prize of a pair of sports shoes for all the children participating in the Kids Day event, and maybe even a Ramadan sweet to take home.
The Kid’s Day event always has funding priority so the participating children can all have a pair of shoes or similar prize to take home, if at all possible. If we fail to reach our maximum goal, the youth and adult soccer tournaments will be the first to be streamlined ( e.g. no prizes for the winning team, only participation medals).
Adnan: “ my expectation is high re the soccer tournament budget, maybe that is because I am keen to jump-start our activities in a concrete way to enlighten the public in Rafah that there is an American entity that wants to show its support for them at this time of abject circumstances.
